The 2017 Lagom Solomon Hills Vineyard Pinot Noir once again captures the essence of this special site. Located in the sandy loam soils on the westernmost boundary of the Santa Maria Valley AVA, Solomon Hills delivers wines with amazing varietal intensity and precision. Small lots from 2 separate blocks were fermented in small open-top fermenters with roughly 30% whole clusters utilizing only native yeasts. They were barrel-aged on lees for 19 months prior to their only racking for blending and bottling unfined and unfiltered. The wine is then bottle aged for an additional year prior to release. This amazing Pinot Noir boasts a fantastic aromatic intensity supported by considerable depth of flavors and tactile presence. Notes of exotic red fruits, spiced black tea, sea mist, and crushed flowers. Fresh acidity supports the wine long into the finish keeping it precise and balanced. This wine will drink beautifully on release and will continue to develop gracefully in bottle over the next decade.
