Torrin 2017 Le Devoir
"It's a smoking wine with a beautiful sense of minerality and salinity as well as pure cassis and black raspberry fruit, crushed flowers, and ground pepper. It's incredibly polished, elegant, and full-bodied and has awesome length." Jeb Dunnuck 96-98 points
For the spring 2017 Torrin release we are excited to introduce, “Le Devoir”. Our own mission statement reminds us that we are a winery dedicated to producing beautiful wines from the ground up. Meaning “the duty” in French, Le Devoir is a blend of varietals that complement one another so naturally and effortlessly we are virtually obligated to bottle this wine. The core of the wine is unmistakably Syrah with intense fruit, a savory mid palate and an impressive textual density. The Graciano complements the blue and black fruit profile and brings incredible length and freshness to the finish of the wine. Together they achieve a remarkable balance of power and finesse. The wines were fermented utilizing native yeast then aged in 300L French Oak barrels for 22 months prior to blending and bottling unfined and unfiltered. Once again 2017 has given us wines that are fantastic early. Don’t hesitate to decant and enjoy Le Devoir over the next couple of years, or like all Torrin wines, age with confidence over the next decade.
