2013 Tsundere - Library
The word "Tsundere" comes from a Japanese character development process that describes a person as gruff and edgy towards others and then over time warms up and becomes gentle and friendly. We thought that this word is often fitting of our wines when we first bottle them, and especially of this wine. However, for the 2013 Tsundere, this is a gorgeous wine right now with even just a year in bottle. Over time we are amazed at the transition of how beautiful and open these wines become with just a little bit of time.

"Another blockbuster, the 2013 Tsundere shows the more pretty style of the vintage, but certainly doesn't pull any punches with its graphite, black fruits, scorched earth and charred meat aromas and flavors. A blend of 30% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Tannat aged in 70% new barrels, it has a full-bodied, pedal to the metal character on the palate as well as ripe tannin and big mid-palate. Drink this hedonistic 2013 anytime over the coming decade or more. "
